Developmental Options

  A Medicad funded benefit for individuals with mental retardation and other related conditions. This service provided twenty-four hour care and specifies provide "active treatment". Many of the individuals are non-ambulatory, have seizure disorders, behavior problems, mental illness, visual or hearing impairments, or a combination of the above. All must qualify for Medicaid assistance financially.

Active treatment refers to a concept were residents receive help to assist them function as independently as possible. Active treatment as stated in the regulations is the aggressive and organized attempt to reach each resident's fullest functional capacity. Each individual has their own rate of development, so the goals depend largely upon the skills they already possess and their needs. Each individual will receive an individually tailored program that aims at achieving their own developmental objectives.

We provides services to Medicaid Waiver Enrolled individuals who reside with family members or independently in the community. This service provides the opportunity for the individuals to increase their skills in the areas of mobility, social behaviors, self care, basic safety, housekeeping, personal hygiene, health care, and financial management. These services are provided by a caregivers who in home and apartment settings. The care also focus on teaching skills that help the individual learn to function at the greatest level possible.

 A program that provides structure day time services to give adults with disabliites a variety of social, recreational, and health activities.
